Your words, kept with care.
When you write a letter to your child or record your voice for a birthday years away, you’re trusting us with something precious. Here we explain, simply, where your messages go, who can see them and how they stay safe until the day they arrive.
Six promises, in plain words
- Kept in Switzerland.The contents of your messages (text, photos, audio and video) are stored on servers in Switzerland, a country that has always cared about privacy.
- Under lock and key.Everything you add is encrypted: turned into a code that no one can read without the key. Even while it travels from you to us.
- Only for the right purpose.We use your content only to keep it and deliver it. Staff can access it only when needed for support or maintenance, and every access is recorded.
- No advertising, no selling.We don’t sell your data and we don’t show advertising. The service is funded by your subscription, not by your information.
- Delivered only to the people you choose.The person who receives it gets a personal link and a PIN. Without both, the message won’t open.
- Always yours.You can download everything, or edit or delete your account whenever you like, right from the app.
Your message’s journey, step by step
From the moment you write to the day it’s delivered, here’s what happens to your words.
- When you write
Your message leaves your phone already protected, like a letter sealed in an envelope that no one can open along the way.
- While it’s kept
It reaches servers in Switzerland and is stored encrypted. We monitor it, protect it and keep it ready, for as many years as it takes.
- On delivery day
At the moment you chose, the person who receives it gets a personal link. To open it they also need a PIN, so only they can read it.
- After delivery
The person who receives it can read, listen and watch, but not change anything. No one can alter what you wrote.
Who can see your messages
Everyone involved has a clear role, and sees only what they need.
You
You see, edit and manage all your messages, whenever you like. You’re the only one in control.
The person who receives it
Sees only the messages meant for them, from the day they’re delivered. Nothing else in your account.
The Guardian
Confirms important moments when needed. Never changes your messages and only reads them if you allow it.
Erabox
Keeps your messages safe. Staff access them only when needed, and every access is recorded.
Your words stay yours
You always have the last word on what you’ve created.
Change things whenever you like
You can change a message, who will receive it or when, right up to delivery day.
Download everything
Go to Profile → Privacy → Export my data and you’ll receive a complete copy of everything you’ve created.
Delete your account
Go to Profile → Privacy → Delete account. Your content is erased within 30 days.

Six habits that keep you safe
Security takes two. We look after your messages; with a little care, you protect your account.
Long, easy for you to remember and different from the ones you use on other sites. A whole sentence works really well.
It’s how we contact you about everything important to do with your account.
A wrong email address or number could send your message to the wrong person. Check them every now and then.
They won’t read your messages unless you allow it, but they do confirm important moments: it’s best to choose someone who’s around and reliable.
Erabox will never ask you for it, by email or by phone. If in doubt, don’t reply and write to us.
If you use a phone or computer that isn’t yours, remember to sign out of your account when you’ve finished.
